SAN DIEGO, Storage Networking World, Booth #G16, April 16 - Overland Storage, Inc. (NASDAQ:OVRL), a leading provider of tape- and disk-based backup and recovery solutions, has announced ARCvault(TM) 48, the latest addition to its ARCvault family of highly affordable tape automation solutions that maximize capacity while minimizing the use of costly rack space. Designed for mid-range backup, recovery and archive applications, ARCvault 48 supports up to 38 TBs of storage in a compact 4u form factor-delivering up to 25 percent more capacity at a lower price point than competing products.
ARCvault 48 is ideally suited for companies seeking high-capacity, low-cost tape storage as a complement to current or planned disk-based data protection or tiered storage solutions. The library features 48 cartridge slots, up to four LTO-3 tape drives and simplified SCSI and Fibre Channel connectivity. In addition, the new ARCvault model also supports library partitioning, enabling use of the library across multiple platforms and applications for increased efficiencies and reduced cost of ownership. ARCvault 48 builds on the success of ARCvault 12 and ARCvault 24 tape automation products, which continue to gain substantial market traction since their introduction in July 2006.
