Overview
The IBM 200/400 GB Half-High Ultrium 2 Tape Drive, with solid performance, excellent data storage capacity, a high-density form factor, and outstanding LTO backup technology on Low Voltage Differential (LVD) Ultra 160 (or higher) SCSI adapters, is the entry-level offering into LTO technology. It can be used from entry-level, mid-range, high-end IBM pSeries® and IntelliStations that require high-capacity, high-performance, and high-reliability tape solutions in a 5.25-inch, half-high form factor.
The IBM TotalStorage® LTO Ultrium 200 GB Data Cartridge (#6271) is used with the Ultrium 2 Tape Drive and combines high storage capacity (200 GB native, 400 GB with 2:1 compression), performance, and reliability. The LTO Ultrium 200 GB Data Cartridge is the next in a long line of IBM data cartridges that help provide quality and reliability for organizations around the world.
The SCSI Cable, Power and Logic (#4278) is required for Half-High Ultrium 2 Tape Drive installation on selected IBM , pSeries, and IntelliStation servers.
Previously released power cords are now available to be used with TotalStorage EXP24 7031-T24/D24.
Key prerequisites
The internal tape unit is suited for servers in computer rooms. If the tape unit will be run in a quiet environment, consider using the optional acoustical covers, where available, or run the tape backup during off hours.
