Taneja Group Validates Storage Virtualization Software Developed by Incipient - Reduces Data Migration Time and Effort by 89 Percent

WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 12 - Incipient, Inc., a leading provider of storage virtualization and automated data migration software, today announced the results of the Taneja Group's review of Incipient software. The report details Incipient software's impact on SAN data migration processes for enterprise environments. One of the many favorable conclusions of the report states that Incipient software reduces data migration time and effort by 89 percent when compared to manual data migrations. Additionally, the report underscores Incipient's ability to eliminate planned downtime associated with data migrations, allowing data center IT staff to maintain application up-time.
The Taneja Group report details the entire end-to-end process of a data migration operation. It provides detailed time metrics for a manual data migration process compared with an online, automated data migration process using Incipient software. The analysis provides total "man hours" for each migration phase from planning to pre-migration configuration, from the actual migration to the post-migration clean up.
