The P9500 encoder series is intended for high-resolution industrial applications and functions as an incremental angular position encoder when used with a multi-pole magnet target wheel. Direction of rotation can be obtained from the two output channels that are 90 degrees electrically out of phase. The final pulses per revolution (PPR) can be selected by the combination of internal programming of the sensor and magnetic pole count of the permanent magnetic target. The P9500 can also be used in linear applications when used in conjunction with a multi-pole magnet strip instead of a magnet target wheel.
