Original Press Release:

Vision Objects Integrates Its MyScript Technology into New Modbook

Nantes (France), January 6, 2009. On the occasion of the MacworldExpo 2009 taking place in San Francisco, Axiotron will be showing the improvements of its Modbook, a tablet-form Mac, and introduce the new Quickscript software. Quickscript is a handwriting recognition application that replaces the keyboard in applications requiring text entry and is based on MyScript, Vision Objects' handwriting recognition technology.

Quickscript transforms natural handwriting into digital text in real-time and inserts it in the active application. Natural handwriting using a stylus directly on the screen may save users a lot of time when entering text and makes it more intuitive compared with a virtual keyboard, for instance. Users can also change the look and feel of the application, such as changing the ink color and size, and they can create a personal dictionary for even more accurate recognition. Quickscript is a completely international solution covering 21 languages.

With Quickscript the Modbook extends its user base from artists and creative people to people on the go such as students, journalists, health workers, and others in the mobile workforce.

"We are delighted to partner with Axiotron on this project, which brings our state-of-the-art handwriting recognition to their Mac tablet. There is an excellent fit between their device and our software, making the combination a very powerful tool. " says Stefan Knerr, CEO and founder of Vision Objects.

Andreas E. Haas, founder and CEO of Axiotron, will show a demonstration of the Modbook during a conference scheduled on January the 6th at Macworld, and Laurent Pasquer, Senior Research and Development Engineer of Vision Objects will give demonstrations and more information about Quickscript at Axiotron's booth 502.
