Item Capture Support v1.3 for MVS/ESA®, OS/390®, and z/OS® enables OS/3 check-processing applications to access IBM 3890(TM), IBM 3890/XP(TM) series, and IBM 3890-compatible document processors. It replaces IBM 3890/XP MVS(TM) Support. Enhancements include TCP/IP support, improved memory usage, logger facility for document processor performance analysis, and debugging. ICP allows users to incorporate all current maintenance into base product.

IBM Item Capture Support V1.3 Incorporates All Current Maintenance Into Base Product
IBM Item Capture Support (ICS) V1.3 for MVS/ESA(TM), OS/390®, and z/OS® enables OS/3 check-processing applications to access IBM 3890(TM), IBM 3890/XP(TM) series, and IBM 3890-compatible document processors. In addition, ICS provides a way to test Stacker Control Instruction (SCI) programs without using actual document processor hardware. ICS replaces the IBM 3890/XP MVS(TM) Support and offers the following enhancements:
· TCP/IP Support
· Improved memory usage
· A Logger Facility for document processor performance analysis and debugging
ICS V1.3 is a direct follow-on to ICS V1.2. It allows customers to incorporate all current maintenance into the base product.
Key prerequisites
The 3890/XP Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Document Processor is required for TCP attachment.
Planned availability date
November 12, 2004
At a glance
IBM Item Capture Support V1.3 supersedes ICS V1.2. All future
maintenance will be on Release 3. ICS V1.3 is upwardly compatible
with V1.2.
