Getting Off to an Easy Start in Industrial Safety Engineering
With the Safety Box 45, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) offers a coordinated combination for industrial safety engineering. It allows users to solve the three tasks emergency-stop with monitored start, protective door monitoring with automatic start, and service operation, quickly and without extensive previous knowledge. The Box contains a multifunctional protective switching device, two contactors, one emergency-stop control device, one key-operated switch with pushbutton in the enclosure, and one limit switch. The enclosed application examples explain how to design and test safety solutions in accordance with EN 954-1 2 Category 2 as well as EN954-1 Category 4 and SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level).
