System detects fastener length.

Press Release Summary:

System verifies length of self-clinching studs and standoffs during insertion process and prevents insertion of incorrect length fastener into parts. Able to detect length variations down to 1.0 mm from correct fastener length, product requires no sensors, tools, or adjustments. System works with InsertionLogic machine control software and is compatible with company's shuttle style tooling for studs and standoffs.

System Detects Incorrect Fastener Lengths

Haeger's new Fastener Length Detection system provides verification of the length of self-clinching studs and standoffs during the insertion process. The system, which is available as an option on Haeger's WindowTouch and OneTouch Insertion Machines, prevents the insertion of an incorrect length fastener into the part. The system can detect length variations as little as 1.0 mm from the correct fastener length - studs and standoffs normally increase in 2.0 mm increments.

It requires no sensors, tools or adjustments and works in conjunction with Haeger's patented safety system and its InsertionLogic machine control software. The system is compatible with Haeger's shuttle style tooling for studs and standoffs. Haeger includes the system in a Quality Assurance Package which also includes Fastener Presence Detection.
