Connor Winfield's STC3500 - A Single Chip Solution for a New Generation of Stratum 3 Synch Applications



As the pioneer in synchronization modules, Connor Winfield recently introduced their latest generation of synch modules - the SM3, which is the smallest synch module in the industry. Now, Connor-Winfield has taken this one step further and is offering design engineers the option of purchasing the STC3500 as a stand-alone chip.

The STC3500 is an integrated single chip solution for the synchronous timing source in SONET/SDH network elements. It is the same engine as in the SM3 module and is fully compliant with Telcordia GR-1244-CORE, GR-253, ITU-T G.812 Type IV and ITU-T-G813 Option 1 when used with applicable oscillator.

The STC3500 can operate in Free Run, locked or Hold Over mode, and supports Master/Slave operation with continuous input reference quality monitoring.
