Switzerland's Sunrise Communications Deploys Amdocs to Transform Its OSS

Swiss telecom provider streamlines delivery of bundled services to better compete in changing marketplace

ST. LOUIS , Mo. - January 14, 2008 - Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems , today announced that Sunrise Communications AG, the second-largest telecommunications operator in Switzerland, has expanded its use of Amdocs OSS (operations support systems) solutions. Amdocs OSS solutions enable Sunrise to establish a foundation for end-to-end service fulfillment to support data and voice services, and streamline its processes to better handle the volume of its residential service fulfillment requirements. In addition, Sunrise has selected Amdocs' activation solution that combines service activation with network data reconciliation to deliver new services quickly and accurately.

"We selected Amdocs OSS solutions based on the quality of the products and the flexibility of a modular suite," said Jens Romoth, director of networks at Sunrise. "Amdocs OSS solutions enable us to meet our immediate needs for service introduction and fulfillment, and deliver an OSS that can achieve high volume activation to rapidly fulfill orders for our next generation products and services."

Sunrise provides voice, both fixed and mobile, and data services to more than 2.2 million business and residential customers throughout Switzerland. Sunrise's plan to quickly deliver new bundled services to residential customers was developed in response to evolving market demands, such as increased competition due to deregulation and the recent introduction of the unbundled loop in Switzerland.

Sunrise will leverage Amdocs OSS solutions' best of suite approach, which automates network planning, fulfillment and assurance processes using multiple products from a holistic and integrated suite of solutions. The solutions will also enable Sunrise to address network inventory, activation and discovery requirements to plan, fulfill and assure a large range of services, consistently and reliably.

Sunrise is a longstanding customer of the Amdocs OSS Division, and recently migrated to the Amdocs Cramer6 OSS Suite to deliver an essential phase of its OSS transformation. Throughout 2008, the provider will continue to roll out a number of products from the OSS Suite to discover and synchronize network data across the enterprise. As a result, Sunrise can improve network data accuracy, increase efficiency of service fulfillment and enhance customer satisfaction through a fully automated service activation process.

"In order to evolve quickly and meet today's changing market needs, service providers need an OSS that enables them to start small with a point solution for a service, and one that is scalable to deliver robust new services in a cost effective manner," said Charles Born, vice president of corporate communications for Amdocs. "Sunrise will benefit from Amdocs' deep understanding of the network and the solutions it delivers to improve data capture, quickly identify issues that affect a network and increase the return on OSS investment."
