Emerson Network Power Introduces Astec 60W AC-DC Switching Power Supplies in Compact Package
Versatile New Models Provide Output Options from 5 to 48VDC with Universal Input
CARLSBAD, Calif. - May 4, 2005 - Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) has announced the introduction of the LPS50 Series of AC-DC switching power supplies from Astec Power (astecpower.com). The new models deliver 55 Watts of total power at 5VDC or 60 Watts at 12V, 15V, 24V or 48VDC. Accepting universal input of 127 to 300VDC (wide range) or 90 to 264VAC, these internal power supplies are ideal for applications requiring flexible implementation worldwide, including 1U rack configurations. Ideally suited for powering a wide variety of devices, including telecommunications, networking, test, measurement and imaging, the LPS50 Series is also available with medical grade safety certifications designated by a M on the model number.
With a compact footprint only 2 inches by 4 inches, the units are among the smallest available in this power range. In spite of the small size, the devices offer high efficiency operation, as well as overload, over-voltage, short circuit and thermal protection. They include built-in Class B EMI filtering and a green LED to indicate when power is on.
The LPS models demonstrate a mean time between failures (MTBF) greater than 550,000 hours at full load in 25B0C ambient conditions and are designed to meet EN61000-X susceptibility requirements. The units comply with worldwide safety and performance standards from UL, CSA, VDE, NEMKO, CB, CCC and CE as well as international standby standards for environmental innovation and energy saving.
