NKK Switches Announces G Series Through-Hole

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (June 21, 2004) - NKK Switches further demonstrates its commitment to providing the highest quality and most reliable switches in the industry with the offering of the G series of washable, ultra-miniature, PC mount toggles, rockers and pushbuttons, all with matching indicators.

The ultra-miniature G series switches feature NKK's award-winning Sliding Twin Crossbar (STC) contact mechanism. This innovative design guarantees unparalleled logic level switching reliability. The gold contacts are wiped clean with every actuation. Using a combination of rounded movable and stationary contacts provides operators with a smooth contact feel.

All G series products are rated 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC maximum. Designed for use in low-voltage, low-current, logic-level applications, the ultra-miniature size allows for high-density mounting. The incredibly lightweight of 0.25 grams make these switches ideal for handheld equipment.

The G series toggles, rockers and pushbuttons are entirely process-sealed for automated processing techniques including flux-cleaning procedures. The bushing and housing are constructed of one molded piece, and a rubber o-ring surrounds the actuator. In addition, a rubber seal surrounds the base where it fits into the actuator. The terminals are epoxy-sealed and molded-in to lock out flux, solvents and other contaminants. Terminal spacing on all devices is .100 X .100, conforming to standard PC board grid spacing. The G series has round terminals to facilitate easier mounting.

All G series devices are available in single pole and double pole configurations. Toggles and rockers have 5 different circuit combinations available, including momentary and maintained action in either two or three positions. Toggles can be specified in straight PC, right angle and vertical angle mount configurations. Rockers are available in only straight PC mount. The pushbuttons feature momentary circuits and design engineers can specify them with straight PC, right angle or vertical angle mount options. This series offers all the possible choices for an application requiring an ultra-miniature, highly reliable and lightweight device.

Pushbutton and rocker caps are available in red, white and black standard. Matching indicators for all three actuation types are included in this series and can be specified in low or high profile appearance. The low profile versions can be configured in straight PC, bracketed and un-bracketed mounts, as well as right angle or vertical angle mount PC. LED choices include red, green and yellow.

A leading designer and producer of electromechanical switches, NKK Switches offers one of the industry's most extensive selections of illuminated, process sealed, miniature, specialty and surface mount switches. The company manufactures more than three million toggle, rocker, pushbutton, slide, rotary, DIP rotary, keypad and keylock switches.
