M Series Rockers Snap-In and Panel Mount

NKK Switches' Rocker and Paddle Devices Offer Bias Guards, Interlocking Actuator Blocks and Internal Guides

Scottsdale, Ariz. (May 19, 2005) - NKK Switches and its network of authorized distributors worldwide are pleased to present the M Series of lead-free, miniature snap-in and panel mount rocker and paddle switches.

This series of miniature rockers and paddles has several distinctive features and accessory options setting it apart from other manufacturers and miniatures currently offered in the marketplace. Unique characteristics of the M Series snap-in and panel mount rockers and paddles include a bias guard that prevents misalignment of contacts, interlocking of the actuator block with rocker and an internal guide that does not allow transmission of diagonal force on the actuator to reach the contact mechanism.

This series of electromechanical switch devices is offered in one through four poles with multiple circuit configurations, which include both momentary and maintained action. The rocker and paddle styles are varied in size, shape and color. Accessory options include snap-in bezels, with or without side mounted single or dual LEDs in round or rectangular shapes. Contact NKK Switches for details on legending options on actuators.

Available mounting methods include flat-frame for flush with sub panel and snap-in versions. The terminals are epoxy sealed to lock out flux and other contaminants and offer terminal options of solder lug, quick connect, straight PC, or wire wrap in varying lengths.

The M Series rocker/paddle switches can be specified with power, logic level or dual ratings. Design engineers can choose from silver, gold or gold over silver contacts. Electrical capacity for these devices is rated either 6A @ 125V AC (3A @ 250V AC) or 0.4VA maximum @28V AC/DC maximum, depending on the specified model. Gold over silver models have dual ratings. High insulating barriers increase isolation of the circuits in multi-pole devices and provide added protection to contact points.

The clinching of the frame to the case, well above the base and terminals, provides 1500V dielectric strength. Mechanical life is rated at 50,000 operations minimum and the molded case has UL94V-0 flammability rating. All models are UL Recognized and CSA Certified.
