VXI Technology Announces Hermetically Sealed, Wide Temperature,VME-Based Switching System

Today VXI Technology introduced the launch of a suite of VME based switch modules. The suite features high-density switches packaged to withstand the most demanding and hostile environments.

The family includes:
SVM2001 60 DPDT, 300V, 2A
SVM2002 26 SPST, 5A optically isolated
SVM2003 100 SPST optically isolated
SVM2004 4 SPST, 20 SPDT, 2 SPST optically isolated
SVM2005 1x60, 2-wire 300V, 2A multiplexer
SVM2006 4x36, 2-wire 300V, 2A matrix
SVM2007 (10) 1x4, 1.3GHz RF switch

The SVM family leverages heavily off the technological success of the popular SMIPII(TM) product line, and addresses power, DC, signal, and RF applications. These high-density switches are available in solid state and electromechanical designs and support VME32/64 operation. Key features include scan list operation, programmable delays, interrupt driven triggering, and internal confidence checking. Additionally, the safety interrupt is a programmable fail-safe feature permitting all relays to be opened based upon a user defined event. These intelligent switching features are achieved in hardware, rather than through driver or on-board firmware, thereby greatly increasing system throughput and reducing software programming overhead.

"This product family is ideally suited for applications such as flight line and shipboard test systems requiring guaranteed performance over wide temperature ranges, and environments that might include salt, sand, or dust," commented Jon Semancik of VXI Technology.

VXI Technology, Inc. (www.vxitechnology.com) designs and manufactures high-density modular instruments, signal switching and data acquisition systems. Their products and services are based on industry standards, and are designed for automated control via busses such as PCI, GPIB, Firewire, VXI and others. The modular approach to product development has enabled customers to configure test stations in smaller footprints, with tighter signal integrity, and at substantially lower costs than alternative solutions. VXI Technology products are used by virtually every major electronics manufacturer / supplier and large mechanical engineering test lab worldwide.
