Swedish Medical Center Selects Sunnex Task Lamps to Illuminate Workspace for Anesthesiologists

NATICK, MASSACHUSETTS, USA - April 17, 2007 - Swedish Medical Center in
Seattle, Wash., is illuminating the workspace for its anesthesiologists, and ultimately
improving patient care, with the installation of Sunnex halogen task lighting on its
anesthesia machines.

"Improving the reliability and quality of workspace illumination by installing new
Sunnex task lighting for our anesthesiologists creates a safer and more productive
environment for them to do their tasks and improves the overall environment of care
for our patients," said Steve Sands, C.B.E.T., Swedish Medical Center, the largest,
most comprehensive, nonprofit health provider in the Pacific Northwest. The Center
includes three hospital campuses, a freestanding emergency room and specialty
center, and a network of 12 primary-care clinics.

"The new Sunnex task lights are a 100 percent improvement," said Sands. He said
the previous use of clip-on task lamps didn't provide the light the staff needed for
their tasks. The clip-on models also proved to be a nuisance as they were prone to
falling off the equipment.

Sands' solution focused on the selection of Sunnex's easily integratable model HS
705 halogen task lighting. The task lights feature a compact head made of high
impact polyamide plastic that allows for unobstructed views of a workspace. The
task lamps are highly customizable and particularly ideal for use in small or hard to
reach areas. They feature a high intensity 20 watt halogen bulb, which delivers
more than 2,000 hours of life, and are available in either a flexible gooseneck or
articulating arm, and a variety of lengths and mounting configurations.

Sands ordered nearly 50 of the Sunnex task lights, configured with either a 20-inch
or a 27-inch gooseneck and with a power switch and dimmer on the head - to
further improve ease-of-use. He mounted the task lamps directly to each of medical
center's anesthesia machines.

"The permanent mount provides a safer and more flexible task lighting solution while
the Sunnex HS 705 task lights deliver more than enough focused bright, white light
needed to both illuminate the equipment meters and to perform any of their required
tasks," he said.

"Everyone agrees," said Sands, "that our new Sunnex task lighting is a pretty slick
solution."
