Trimble Adds Premium Mechanical Total Station to Construction Layout Portfolio

New Mechanical Total Station for Building Construction Contractors Includes an Onboard Windows CE Device Running Trimble LM80 Layout Manager Software

LAS VEGAS - Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today introduced the Trimble® TS835 Mechanical Total Station, a premium mechanical total station for building construction professionals. The unique instrument features an onboard Windows CE device running Trimble LM80 Layout Manager software. Building construction professionals can now experience the convenience of this powerful software designed specifically for their applications directly at their fingertips without an external controller. The Trimble TS835 Total Station enables contractors to increase point layout productivity and accuracy while reducing rework and project expenses.

The announcement was made today at World of Concrete 2010, the concrete industry's annual international event dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries.

Designed for general and concrete contractors performing positioning and layout tasks on the building construction jobsites, the Trimble TS835 combines advanced features with an intuitive easy-to-use interface. As today's building designs become increasingly complex, the Trimble TS835 delivers the accuracy necessary for the layout of foundations, forms and footers. Using the Trimble TS835, contractors can use digital data for layout to reduce mistakes, check the accuracy of points that have been set out, and increase productivity.

The Trimble TS835 features a compact, lightweight, and rugged hardware platform offering 5-second accuracy and a fast, long-range EDM with precision optics. It can be used with a prism or in reflectorless mode for single-person operation.

The TS835 breaks new ground with its Windows CE touch-screen device and Trimble LM80 Layout Manager software directly onboard. Trimble LM80 software on the TS835 enables contractors to carry, manage, work with, and lay out jobsite blueprints for fast and accurate building foundation layout. It provides a graphical interface that makes viewing and referencing jobs and analyzing data fast and easy. The LM80 software can handle a wide variety of data formats, plus create points in the field directly from a DXF file. Job files and DXF data are easily transferred between the TS835 instrument and a PC.

The TS835 demonstrates Trimble's continued commitment to leveraging technology to deliver solutions that provide a strong return on investment for a broad range of contractors and trades on the industrial, commercial and residential construction jobsite.

The Trimble TS835 Mechanical Total Station is available now through Trimble's worldwide Building Construction Distribution Network.
