Original Press Release:
TimeSight Systems(TM) Releases Version 2.4 of Its Video Surveillance Appliance
Company's latest intelligent network video recorders with Video Lifecycle Management (VLM) extends integration with both established infrastructure and external business systems
MT. LAUREL, N.J., Sept. 15 / / - TimeSight Systems(TM), the industry leader in Video Lifecycle Management (VLM), today announced the availability of TimeSight Version 2.4, the industry's only intelligent network video recorder (NVR) software to provide automated VLM capability. The new release features integration to a wider array of established security infrastructure partners including: Lenel's OnGuard access control system; a wider range of Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) systems for both analog and digital cameras; and direct connect for legacy analog cameras into the network NVR. As an example of magnified business value, the combination of the OnGuard Access Control with the latest TimeSight solution provides customers with advanced access control and employee and visitor management functionality including the ability to store and retrieve video associated with access control events (i.e. forced door, etc.) at different resolution, frame rate and retention periods according to business rules.
"TimeSight has been a pioneer in VLM during a period when storage requirements have continued to escalate," stated Dilip Sarangan, senior analyst with industry analyst firm Frost & Sullivan. "Now they are leveraging their intelligent storage management into an even wider arena, allowing input from external systems such as Access Control to provide catalysts for how video is stored, managed, and retrieved. This is an example of how surveillance data is becoming more integrated and valuable to enterprises today."
TimeSight's patented Dynamic H.264 compression with exclusive Motion Optimized Recording (MORe) makes higher resolution analog and IP solutions even more effective and affordable. By applying specific policies to both motion and non-motion video, users can store all video footage, dramatically reducing risk and storage requirements over time without the increased risk caused by deleting video which may not have met predetermined motion thresholds.
"TimeSight's VLM technology has been a key component in allowing us to increase the level of protection we provide our people, property, and assets, without having to increase our storage budget," said Tony Castorino, Director of Physical Security for Technicolor. "The added intelligence of allowing our video lifecycle management to be triggered by external business systems opens many new doors to us in how we want to leverage this surveillance data as a corporate asset."
TimeSight V2.4 NVR also features ACe, an Analog Camera Environment feature that provides plug-n-play capability for existing analog cameras, allowing users with a significant investment in analog CCTV systems to migrate into a fully functional IP based video network with better image quality and longer retention than currently possible on most DVRs.
"Our unique automated VLM technology with MORe continually lowers the size and cost of storing video over time as risk is reduced without sacrificing retention time, deleting data or creating video gaps," said Charles Foley, chairman and CEO, TimeSight Systems. "By integrating with existing systems such as Lenel's OnGuard platform, we allow our customers to tie the benefits of VLM to other systems, such as their access control system, so they may store video associated with specific activities according to their business value and the rules they establish."
