Three new surge suppressors protect sensitive electronics against surges on power and data lines
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 4, 2003  Liebert® Corporation, an Emerson Network Power company, today introduced the PowerSure Surge II, three new surge suppressors delivering cost-effective, computer-grade power protection for desktop computers and their peripherals, audio visual systems, phone systems and cable modems. Designed for professional desktop and network environments, PowerSurge II delivers a high degree of protection with integrated transient voltage surge suppression (TVSS) circuitry to prevent spikes, surges and other anomalies from damaging sensitive electronics through power or data lines.

The PowerSure Surge II family includes three models allowing users to easily tailor surge suppression to their equipment needs. The Professional Series delivers basic protection for desktop systems with eight outlets providing peak surge current protection of 30,000 Amps. The Network Series adds data line protection ideally suited for network, broadband applications and increased peak surge protection to 60,000 Amps. The DSS series, which includes phone line protection and eight protected power outlets, adds dual input coaxial surge suppression designed for audiovisual and broadband applications utilizing a cable modem.
All PowerSure Surge II models feature:
- Eight surge protected outlets with spacing for three transformer blocks and two continuously powered, always-on outlets to support a wide range of equipment and applications
- Thermal fuses that inhibit destructive and dangerous surges from reaching connected equipment if the surge suppressor fails
- Site wiring fault indicator to identify reverse wiring in the wall socket that can create equipment problems
- High joule ratings  600J on the Professional Series and 900J on the Network and DSS models  enable absorption of high energy surges without damage
- Electromagnetic and radio frequency interference filtering eliminates electrical noise on the utility power input
- Availability indicator provides visual assurance that the system is operational
- Two-year warranty
