Original Press Release:
AA Battery Clip with SMD Leads, P/N: BK-53
MPD is introducing P/N BK-53, a surface mounting AA battery clip. Using two spring arms to capture and hold a AA battery in place. These arms make it very easy to insert and remove a AA battery because of the excellent access afforded. Normally used in pairs the clips are a very low cost yet effective method of adding a battery to a pcb.
BK-53 clips have twin SMD leads that solder to a pcb for added reliability. Each lead has a solder hole that contributes to the solder paste wicking up onto the terminal for additional joint strength. Made of phosphor bronze and nickel plated overall for easy solder-ability. Available from stock with a suggested price of $0.125 each when purchased in lots of 5,000 pieces.
