Lumex Introduces Industry's Brightest Surface Mount LEDs
PALATINE, IL--Lumex is introducing its new family of surface mount technology (SMT) light-emitting diodes. Their SML-LX1110xx-TR series includes the brightest SMT LEDs available from any manufacturer, with intensities as high as 25,000 mcd. Offered in the PLCC-4 package, these devices are ideal for backlighting, interior and exterior automotive lighting, architectural and decorative lighting, or anywhere a high-intensity light source is required with the benefits of surface mount packaging.
Lumex's new SML-LX1110xx-TR high-power LEDs are available in four colors including red, yellow, green and blue. Typical brightness levels range from 2,500 mcd (blue) to 25,000 mcd (red) at If = 350mA. All colors are available with viewing angles (2x Theta) of either 90o or 120o. The square PLCC-4 packages measure just 10mm (0.394") on each side. They include internal reflective cavities to maximize light output and have a polarity mark for easy identification and proper placement. These devices are supplied on standard 24mm tape for automated assembly. In addition, Lumex's high-power SMT LEDs are RoHS compliant to help designers meet the new lead-free standard.
