Romoland, CA, May 10, 2002 The new self-leaded, flat wire, surface mount DR356 Series Inductors from Datatronic are both cost and space efficient for DC-DC converter and Switching Power Supply applications. Combining high-performance filtering and value, these surface mount inductors offer high DC current handling capabilities for superior DC-DC and switching power supply filtering.
The DR356 Series features a low profile, flat top design that is ideal for pick and place manufacturing. With an inductance range from 580nH to 2.3micro H (+20%), and a rated current from 22-12 Amps, this inductor is an ideal choice for use in laptops, PC's, telecommunication and instrumentation. The DCR value of the DR356 Series is 1.45 to 4.3 Ohms. Compact packaging makes the DR356-1 Series especially useful where conserving board space is essential. Maximum height for the DR356-1 Series is just 0.185 inches (4.7mm), with a footprint of 0.50 inches (12.6mm) by 0.50 inches (12.6mm). The maximum height for the DR356-2 Series is 0.197 inches (5.0mm), with a footprint of 0.50 inches (12.6mm) by 0.50 inches (12.6mm).
Each DR356 is manufactured using UL94V0 materials and operates effectively in temperatures ranging from 40°C to +105°C and it is compatible with convection and other surface mount assembly processes. It is available in tape-and-reel packaging for high-speed pick-and-place equipment. Custom inductance values are available upon request. The DR356 Series is priced at $1.39 each in minimum quantities of 10,000 pieces. High-volume OEM pricing is available upon request. Delivery time is stock to four weeks on common values.
