Series OMT 125 Offers Exceptional Performance and Environmental Compatibility
Schurter's latest fuse series OMT 125 adds yet another series to the company's growing range of lead-free components. The OMT 125 complements the existing range of surface mount fuses by adding a time-lag version in the same form and fit package as the fast-acting version OMF 125. It is the only product of its type that can offer added safety at fault currents up to 100 amperes at 125 volts AC/DC, for protection of personnel and equipment from fire or damage. Comparable fuses today only offer ratings from 35 to 50A. The OMT 125 has an extremely low voltage drop (e.g. 88mV for the 1A fuse). Power dissipation is 88mW for the 1A fuse, making it ideal for use in densely populated boards. Rated currents are 500mA to 5A at 125V.
The OMT 125 is built according to UL 248-14 and is pending cUL. It can be directly soldered onto a printed circuit board or used with an SMD fuseholder. Soldering heat resistance is 260°C for 10 seconds according to IEC 60068-2-58. The OMT 125 is completely lead-free, including the fusing element. Typical applications include power supplies, battery chargers, computers and consumer electronics.
