Fox Now Offers New Ultra-Miniature Ceramic Surface Mount Crystal for Portable Applications



Fort Myers, FL, May 2005 - Fox Electronics, America's leading supplier of frequency control products, has introduced a new ultra-miniature ceramic surface mount crystal that is smaller than other crystals on the market offering the same level of functionality. The FX252B is designed for use in portable and space-constrained devices including laptop computers, PDAs, cell phones, PCMCIA cards, Bluetooth, small rack-mounted equipment and portable test equipment.

The compact FX252B measures just 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm, with an extremely low profile of just 0.6 mm. The new crystal offers a frequency range of 16 MHz to 54 MHz; a frequency tolerance of ± 50 PPM; a frequency stability of ± 50 PPM; an operating temperature range of -10°C (+14°F) to +60°C (+140°F); and long-term aging of ±5 PPB per year. Other tolerances, stabilities and operating temperature ranges are also available. The FX252B surface mount crystal is fully RoHS compliant.

Pricing for a 16 MHz FX252B crystal is $2.86 in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is eight weeks ARO.
