Two new surface finishes now complement IFT's already established Electroless Nickel line: Lead- and Cadmium-Free Electroless Nickel, plus Trivalent Chromate Conversion Coating. Lead- and Cadmium-Free Electroless Nickel is an electroless nickel process that yields a mirror bright nickel phosphorus alloy. It has all the same attributes as the standard Electroless Nickel as far as corrosion resistance, uniformity of coverage, hardness, superior lubricity, and repair and salvage capabilities. This process does not contain lead or cadmium and meets the requirements of the European Union End-of-Vehicle Life Directive.

Trivalent Chromate Conversion Coating is a liquid chemical trivalent chromate conversion coating used to produce a protective coating on pure aluminum, zinc, and their alloys, and on anodic aluminum coatings, which minimizes corrosion and provides an improved bonding surface for paints. Surfaces treated with this Trivalent coating process are generally a faint blue to tan, and iridescent.
