Suprema Selected to Provide Live Scanners for the Nationwide Voter Registration Project in Yemen

SEOUL –Â Suprema Inc., a world leader in biometric technology, in cooperation with Gemalto S.A., a world leader in digital security, has been award a contract to provide a biometric voting system for the Yemen government. Yemen has come one step closer to adopting democracy and is now preparing for the new presidential elections by strategically investing the funds received from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) into an integrated system consisting of Supremas RealScan-D and Gemaltos Coesys Solution.
RealScan-D is one of the worlds fastest live scanners and boasts a scan rate close to 20 fps (frames-per-second). RealScan-D contains a powerful DSP utilizing Supremas fast image-processing algorithms and advanced live scan technology. Its compact form and USB interface makes it suitable for mobile jump-kits that can be used for on-site registration. Suprema Inc. is scheduled to supply approximately four thousand eight hundred (4,800) RealScan-D live scanners for the electronic voting project in Yemen and is also expected to be awarded the e-Passport project in Ghana with Gemalto S.A.
