Sunburst EMS Announces Partnership with NeuroMetrix; Establishes Unique 'On-Site' Micro-facility

July 28, 2007

West Bridgewater Massachusetts, USA - Sunburst EMS has partnered with NeuroMetrix of Waltham Massachusetts, to manufacture the company's next generation of neurodiagnostic instrumentation. NeuroMetrix develops innovative neurological diagnostic and therapeutic solutions.

The alliance with Neurometrix involves the unique establishment of an in-house micro-facility at Sunburst dedicated to the Neurometrix product, a stand-alone, vertically-integrated dedicated work cell providing board-level functional test, sub-unit functional test, systems test, and final customer packaging for market distribution. In making the announcement, Andrew Chase, President and CEO of Sunburst, said, "Cell members - Sunburst personnel - take part in the planning process with direct customer interface to ensure that customer expectations have been met or exceeded with minimum resource allocation and maximum efficiency."

According to Chase, the selection of Sunburst was based on its current good manufacturing processes utilized in the manufacturing of NeuroMetrix's NC Stat System, and the successful attainment of ISO 13485:2003 in December 2006. Included in the milestones for selection were procurement strategies, manufacturing process capabilities, configuration management, data collection, and monitoring and measurement techniques. "In our business approach, as a contract manufacturer, the success of Sunburst is fundamentally dependent upon our commitment to our customers" Chase adds. "ISO 13485:2003 Quality Management System was adopted and employed with emphasis on continual improvement, employee empowerment and objective measurement. We continue to concentrate on the medical electronics market as we feel our suite of services complement the needs of the market very well."

Sunburst's relationship with NeuroMetrix began in September of 2005 to manufacture the company's NC Stat platform. The award of the ADVANCE System reflects the ongoing efforts between both organizations in achieving a mutual and beneficial partnership.

Charles Fendrock, Vice President of Manufacturing at NeuorMetrix, said, "We see Sunburst EMS as an operational extension of NeuroMetrix. It's as though they work for our company, but they aren't employees of NeuroMetrix. We seek partnerships that are comfortable and are proven to work. We practice the Golden Rule everyday; this means open communications, as well as mutual respect which creates an environment for success."

Sunburst EMS is a flexible, full-service provider of a full range of contract electronics manufacturing services, including Design, Prototyping, PCB Assembly, Conformal Coating, Box Build, Supply Chain Management, and more. Sunburst EMS is fully RoHS and WEEE compliant.
