Sunburst EMS Announces Enhanced BGA Rework Capability
July 3, 2007
West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, USA - Sunburst EMS announces the expansion of its SMT and BGA rework and servicing capability with the acquisition of a new A.P.E. 'Intruder' hot gas-based rework system to round out the company's PCB assembly capabilities.
According to APE's Technical Director David Horvath, "The Intruder system that we have supplied to Sunburst is designed especially for high mass and lead-free assemblies. They now have a tool that enables them to handle virtually any BGA application. The Intruder's energy delivery is much like that of a reflow oven; thus, the process is simple to set up and replicates the oven profiles for each individual chip. An unlimited number of individual process recipes can be created and stored. For Sunburst in particular, The Intruder gives them the ability to work on some of their micro applications without the threat of overheating or blowing them out of alignment during the process. Reworking large BGAs will now be easier and more consistent as well." For more information about A.P.E. products, visit www.ape.com.
