SuccessFactors Delivers Product Innovation Immediately Following Inform Acquisition

Leader in Business Execution Software Integrates Powerful New Analytics and Predictive Modeling Capabilities to Accelerate Customer Results

BRISBANE, Australia, -- Today, SuccessFactors, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFSF) announced significant new content-enriched analysis and predictive modeling capabilities across its integrated Business Execution (BizX) Software Suite to provide C-level executives robust insight into business performance and enable organizations to better execute on their strategy.

The new capabilities are powered by technology from Inform, the Australia-based workforce planning and analytics leader SuccessFactors acquired in July. Since delivering its first joint solution in May, SuccessFactors has been working to further leverage Inform's technology and add value to its BizX Suite, which offers solutions focused on business alignment, team execution and people performance.

"After an acquisition, many software companies undergo a period of chaos and uncertainty in which departments are paralyzed and stop shipping product for months. At SuccessFactors, we execute at a higher velocity," said Dmitri Krakovsky, vice president of global product management, SuccessFactors. "Since acquiring Inform six weeks ago, we've practiced the business execution standard that we preach and are proud to deliver new analytics functionality that further extend the leadership of our BizX Suite. These new analytics bring business execution to a new level by delivering even more actionable insights to our customers worldwide."

Today, SuccessFactors announced the availability of question-based analysis within its Workforce Planning and Workforce Analytics solutions, empowering organizations to answer the top 100 most critical human capital questions that are proven to impact business results. Developed from 30 years of field and academic research, the new functionality highlights problem areas within organizations and suggests specific strategic initiatives to address them. With these new capabilities, executives and managers now have a straightforward questions-driven analytics framework to guide strategic decision-making and answer critical human capital questions, such as:

-- How many dollars of operating profit are generated for every dollar invested in compensation and benefits?

-- What is our voluntary turnover rate among key executives, critical roles and top performers? What are the associated costs to the business?

-- In the last four years has workforce productivity increased/decreased?

-- What percentage of our workforce will retire in the next year or the next five years?

-- Is the return on investment of human capital higher than the investment on working capital or invested capital?

Users are also able to access rich content pertaining to each business question asked, including purpose and impact on execution, strategy recommendations, relevant metrics and industry benchmarks to uncover additional insights.

SuccessFactors today also announced the advanced predictive modeling and demand forecasting capabilities within Workforce Planning and Workforce Analytics to deliver executives deeper insight around future workforce needs. SuccessFactors predictive modeling empowers executives and managers to:

-- Identify relationships between specific employee roles and business outcomes to forecast future workforce needs;

-- Better estimate workforce demands and plan long-term hiring and staffing strategies with a greater degree of confidence; and

-- Leverage new statistical techniques to provide answers to workforce composition and project-related questions such as, "How many, and what mix, of people will I need to deliver on a 15 percent growth target?"

"Companies are sitting on a massive amount of workforce data that is not easily accessed or put to use. Our new content-enriched analysis and modeling capabilities take this data and transform it to deliver insights and answers that traditionally require a team of analysts to produce," commented Krakovsky. "We're expanding on an already best-in-class solution powered by Inform to provide our customers the answers they need in an intuitive, easy-to-use manner and allow them to focus on what's important - executing on business strategy. These capabilities show how SuccessFactors is making the most of a strategic combination: advanced analytics capabilities and the immense scale of a data set drawn from more than eight million on-demand users."

Leveraging SuccessFactors' SaaS-based delivery model, all Workforce Planning and Workforce Analytics customers can immediately take advantage of these latest enhancements at no additional charge.
