Subsea Flange Adapters tolerate high pressure and vibration.

Press Release Summary:

Dual Seal Flange Adapters optimize reliability and safety of high-vibration, high-shock hydraulic 4-bolt connections in subsea oil and gas applications. Available in ½, 1, and 1½ in. sizes, they incorporate radial and face seal methods to ensure port retention and maximize sealing capacity. Captive O-ring groove on flange head helps prevent leaks, while face seal resists environmental pressures. Adapters are constructed from SAE 316/316L stainless steel.

Parker's New Dual Seal Flange Adapters Offer an Alternative to SAE Code 62 Connections for Subsea Applications; Higher Working Pressure Rating, Captive O-Ring, NACE Compliance Equate to Improved Reliability, Safety

COLUMBUS, OH - Dual Seal Flange Adapters from Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, improve the reliability and safety of high-vibration, high-shock hydraulic four-bolt connections in critical subsea oil and gas applications. The new adapters are designed as an alternative to traditional SAE Code 62 Flanges.

Available in standard Code 62 footprint sizes ½" (-8), 1" (-16) and 1 ½" (-24), the adapters incorporate both radial and face seal methods for improved port retention and increased sealing capacity. Together, these technologies reduce the potential for system leakage and air/water ingression caused by side loading of conventional flange face seal connections, thereby reducing the likelihood of a costly field replacement due to failure.

Parker's innovative Dual Seal Flange Adapters further offer these competitive advantages:

o The primary radial seal improves working pressure rating in certain configurations. Parker has tested its adapters to 7,500 psi (515 bar) with a 4:1 design factor, exceeding current industry requirements for potential dual seal flange adapter connections. Reliability at these system pressures was validated by conducting impulse testing for 1,000,000 cycles. The face seal, meanwhile, resists external environmental pressures.

o Parker added a captive O-ring groove to the traditional SAE J518 flange head. This design further reduces the potential for leaks by improving seal retention and eliminating O-ring related assembly errors. The flange head is conveniently interchangeable with commercially available flange components and hardware because it is patterned after ISO 6162/SAE J518 flange bolt design.

o The adapters are NACE MR0175 compliant (National Association for Corrosion Engineers; "Materials for use in H2S-containing environments in oil and gas production"). They are constructed from SAE 316/316L stainless steel and are fully Heat Code Traceable. Both the radial seal and face seal O-rings are Nitrile 90 durometer.

The complete Dual Seal Flange Adapters product line extends to a range of tube and hose connection types to meet various hydraulic system design needs; included are Parker's Seal-Lok(TM) (SAE J1453) and Triple-Lok® (SAE J514), as well as NPTF for traditional hydraulic connections. Parker also offers socket weld configurations for scheduled pipe assemblies.
