Original Press Release:

Rittal Ripac Solid Subrack Protects in Extreme Conditions

Rittal have extended their series of subracks with the introduction of the 19 in. Ripac Solid, a robust subrack which offers high mechanical stability to protect electronics in extreme conditions.

Specifically designed to provide stability, Ripac Solid ensures smooth and continuous operation of the whole system especially when exposed to extreme loads such as constant acceleration and environments with permanent vibrations.

Highly torsion-resistant rails with double screw fastenings at both ends guarantee the high mechanical stability required in applications involving shock and vibration. Designed in accordance with IEC 60297-3-101, -102, -103 (19 in. mechanical system) Ripac Solid comes complete with test and inspection certificates in accordance with DIN EN/IEC 61587-1 (mechanical load test) and DIN EN 50155 (IEC 61373, International Electrotechnical Commission, "railway applications - electronic rolling stock equipment.") The range is supplemented by a large selection of accessories from the standard Ripac modular toolkit.

The RoHS-compliant 19 in. subrack is available as standard in 3U and 6U versions with a depth of 245 mm. Over 60 other sizes can be built using standard parts from the Ripac range. The 2.5 mm thick aluminium side panels and the extruded aluminium horizontal rails are chromated to provide the conductivity essential in EMC applications.
