NKK Switches Announces HB Series Subminiature Pushbutton Switches
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (July 12, 2004) - NKK Switches further demonstrates its commitment to providing the highest quality and most reliable switches in the industry with the offering of the HB series of illuminated and non-illuminated subminiature pushbuttons.
The series features a compact front panel design with black built-in bezels available in .354" square or round options. The behind panel depth is less than one inch and the round panel cutout of .315" (8mm) is an industry standard. Rear panel threaded mounting provides secure positioning.
Rated at 0.1A maximum @ 30V AC/DC, the HB series has solder lug terminals that are spaced .100" X .200" to enable PCB mounting. This can be accomplished by elongating the PC board holes to .080". As an added feature, the longer, normally closed terminal facilitates wiring and soldering.
NKK ensures the reliability of these devices with dual, sliding contacts. The contacts are self-cleaning, providing contact stability, high reliability and increased operating life. The mechanical life is rated at 100,000 operations minimum. Terminals are molded in to lock out flux, dust and other contaminants. In addition, this series is UL Recognized. The HB series can be specified in single pole double throw, momentary or maintained circuits. A latch-down feature in the maintained option gives indication of circuit status at a single glance. The HB series also features audible and tactile feedback with a very smooth and responsive operation.
Illuminated models of the HB series offer a myriad of LED choices. In addition to Bright LEDs in red, amber and green, design engineers can specify Super Bright options in white, blue or green LEDs. Both full-face and spot-illuminated models are available. Any desired changes can be facilitated through front panel relamping.
Non-illuminated models are available with solid caps in many different colors, and matching LED indicators round out this series. The HB series pushbuttons and indicators are offered assembled or unassembled at the customer's request.
