Submersible Pressure Sensor simplifies liquid level measurements.

Press Release Summary:

Able to be used in diverse liquids, PT-500 calculates level based on pressure being exerted on sensor from liquid above it. Construction is 316L stainless steel, and degree of current draw enables use in remote locations/battery powered applications. Installed by dropping it into vessel, this Class 1, Division 1 certified sensor is intrinsically safe for use in hazardous environments and integrates lightning protection. Zero point can be adjusted in field using supplied magnet.

Submersible Pressure Sensor Simplifies Level Measurement in Liquids

Lincoln, Nebraska – BinMaster’s new PT-500 submersible pressure transducer is an affordable and versatile level sensor that calculates level based upon the amount of pressure being exerted on the sensor from the liquid above it. It can be used in a wide range of liquids including water, wastewater and a variety of chemicals. It is Class 1, Division 1 certified and intrinsically safe for use in hazardous environments. As it has a low current draw, the PT-500 can be used in remote locations and for battery powered applications.

Made of 316L stainless steel, the PT-500 submersible pressure transducer is compatible with many liquids and chemicals. BinMaster offers a variety of rugged housings and cables to ensure the sensor will operate reliably and have a long product life in its operational environment. Lightning protection is built into the sensor, eliminating the need for a separate surge protector. This reduces your overall equipment investment and the need to replace sensors due to power surges that may damage the sensors.

The PT-500 installs simply by dropping it into the vessel. A protective cage is recommended for use with the PT-500 pressure sensor to protect it from damage. BinMaster offers a protective cage that is a separate component, making it reusable in the event a sensor needs to be replaced. Over the long term, this provides flexibility and reduces the total out-of-pocket investment.

To further simplify its use, the PT-500 has a unique feature that allows setting the zero adjust in the field, eliminating the need to perform the adjustment with a potentiometer screw. Using a simple magnet supplied with the unit, the zero point can be adjusted by sliding the magnet up or down the side of the sensor. There is no need to send the sensor to the factory for calibration, as the PT-500 can be adjusted to zero using the magnet. Since there are not any potentiometer screws, there is no chance of leaking which could damage the sensor.
