New Low-Density Styling Boards from Vantico Provide Cost-Effective Performance


EAST LANSING, Mich., April 29, 2002 -- Two economical, low-density polyurethane boards for machining styling models, temporary master models and prototypes with a good surface finish and excellent edge definition are now available from Vantico A&T US Inc.'s RenShape(R) Solutions Tooling Group, it was announced today at the Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing 2002 Exposition in Cincinnati.

The new boards, designated Ren Shape(R) 5025 and Ren Shape 5030, are specially designed to provide customers with easy handling and good performance at a cost-effective price. Ren Shape 5025 has a 15 lbs./ft3 density and a Shore hardness of 27D. It is available in 40-inch x 96-inch sheets in 2-, 4- and 8-inch thicknesses.

Ren Shape 5030 features a density of approximately 20 lbs./ft3 and a Shore hardness of 30-35D. The new board is supplied in two sizes: 59-inches long x 19.7-inches wide x approximately 4- and 8-inches thick.
