HellermannTyton Introduces Structured Cabling Solutions For Residential Market

"Home Network Sciences" Allows for an Efficiently Networked Home August 11, 2003 - Milwaukee, WI -- HellermannTyton, a global manufacturer of network cabling solutions, introduces Home Network Sciences(TM) - an easy to use structured cabling system designed specifically for residential, small office - home office (SOHO), and multi-dwelling unit applications. Building upon the company's expertise in the commercial market with its Network Sciences line of structured cabling products, Home Network Sciences offers the high performance technology needed to meet Category 6 and Category 5e standards, along with the TIA/EIA-570-A residential communications standard. Home Network Sciences allows for efficient telephone distribution, video and television distribution, whole-house audio, computer networking using DSL and cable modems, internet networking, and customized multimedia wall plates. Advantages to the Home Network Sciences system include design differences which make installation and maintenance of the structured cabling system easier. A U.L. Listed enclosure is designed for installation flexibility with strategically located knockouts around the enclosure. The unit also features a unique grid spacing design which works together with the system's modules to eliminate the need for plastic push lock pins which can hinder installation. The easy to install Home Network Sciences system allows for the modules to be quickly hung and secured on the grid. Clear labeling also differentiates the Home Network Sciences system. A color coded label facilitates punch down of all modules with 110 blocks, which also reduces error during installation. Also, all module covers feature an area for labeling which helps register distribution points, making changes and maintenance easy. Labeling can neatly be accomplished using HellermannTyton's Tagprint Pro labeling software and labels. Another element to the Home Network Sciences System which facilitates installation is the computer keystone data module. This module accepts up to eight Category 6 or Category 5e jacks or keystone modules such as F-Type, BNC, RCA, S-Video, and fiber. Using this module, jacks can be terminated outside the enclosure, which eases installation. Hubs, switches, and routers are also available as part of the Home Network Sciences system, allowing for a dwelling's local area network.
