Streetline to Deploy Smart Parking Program for Salt Lake City's Temple Square

Temple Square visitors to benefit from guided parking and reduced traffic congestion

SAN FRANCISCO -- Streetline, Inc. today announced that Temple Square in Salt Lake City is deploying Streetline's sensor-based smart parking system within the Conference Center garage - giving facilities managers a faster and more accurate way to assess parking needs while providing visitors with improved parking guidance.

At the core of the program, which is currently in a pilot phase, is Streetline's patented smart parking platform which detects the presence of a car through a network of ultra-low power wireless sensors located in each parking space. The entire system is designed to increase operational performance and improve customer service through a suite of web and mobile applications, while avoiding the hard to install and complex wired conduits of current systems.

Streetline applications include a policy tool that analyzes parking demand and turnover, and a situational awareness application that tracks garage space use in real time. The sensor network will also deliver parking data to mobile devices, including the iPhone, and be able to relay information to digital parking signage to direct drivers to floors with open spaces.

Located in Salt Lake City's center block known as Temple Square, the Salt Lake Temple and adjacent Conference Center hosts more than three million visitors a year.

"We applaud the foresight of Temple Square in using advanced technologies to transform their parking facilities," said Zia Yusuf, CEO of Streetline. "Implementing a smart parking program in private sector garage facilities and sites such as universities and shopping malls is the next logical step for Streetline's advanced sensor-based parking management solutions."
