RF Coaxial Connector Clamp Prevents Cable Twisting And Flexing Problems
A strain relief clamp that fits onto the back end of standard RF coaxial connectors to reinforce cable assemblies subjected to excessive twisting and flexing is available from TRU Corporation of Peabody, Massachusetts.
TRU's SR-Series Clamp Attachment features a rolling clamp nut design that provides greater axial and rotational support than typical shrink tubing strain reliefs. Simple to screw onto the back of their RF coaxial connectors, this clamp attachment prevents distortion of the cable which can be caused by over-tightening and offers added protection from repeated flexing.
Suitable for cables from ¼" to ¾" O.D., TRU's SR-Series Clamp Attachment is fully compatible with RG214, RG393, and RG217 connectors and is especially useful in applications where the connector is much larger than the cable. Constructed from nickel- or silver plated brass, this compact attachment will not alter the cable's electrical properties.
