Straight-Bore Conveyor Clutch helps produce soft starts.

Press Release Summary:

Air Champ® LSCC-54 employs multiple interfaces that engage under air pressure to drive sprockets, which are attached to clutch drive flange. When air pressure is not directed to clutch, springs keep clutch interface separated for complete disengagement. With through-shaft, open design, product offers 4,000 lb-ft torque at 80 psi and bore range of 0.875-1.500 in. Additional offerings include internal spline drive and shielded ball bearings.

Nexen Focuses on Conveyor Systems

(Vadnais Heights, Minn. - May 15, 2003) Nexen Group, Inc., today announced their new Air Champ® LSCC-54 Straight-Bore Conveyor Clutch. The LSCC offers high torque and can be modified to accept a wide range of chain or timing belt sprockets or pulley diameters.

The LSCC-54 is ideal for soft starts in accumulating, chain-driven live-roller, or in-line material handling conveyor applications. The multiple interfaces of the LSCC engage under air pressure to drive sprockets, which are attached to the clutch drive flange. When air pressure is not directed to the clutch, springs keep the clutch interface separated for complete disengagement.

The key features and benefits of the LSCC-54 include:

o High torque: 452 Nm [4000 in-lb at 5.5 bar [80 psi
o Bore range: 22-38 mm [0.875 - 1.500 in
o Through-shaft design for easy mounting
o Variable mounting configurations: plate or double-single sprocket, timing belt sprocket, or sheave
o Open design for improved airflow, allowing for greater heat dissipation
o Internal spline drive provides trouble free disengagement
o Shielded ball bearings for low disengagement drag
o No rotary air union required
o Spring biased for complete disengagement
o Field repairable o-rings, facings and springs.
