StormwateRx Introduces Industry Remedies to Meet Unique Stormwater Treatment Needs of Specific Industries

Stormwater Best Management Practices and Products Configured to Help Industries Meet Strict Environmental Benchmarks

Portland, Oregon - StormwateRx (www.stormwaterx.com), a provider of industrial stormwater treatment and filtration systems, today announced the introduction of its Industry Remedies, a series of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) and product configurations to meet the unique needs of specific industries, including energy, metal products, recycling, transportation, marine, rubber and plastics, food processing, wood products and solid waste, among others. With extensive experience developing and deploying stormwater treatment systems for a wide range of industries across the United States and Canada, StormwateRx has cultivated a deep understanding of the unique environmental concerns, BMPs, and ideal product configurations to help industrial sites meet even the strictest environmental benchmarks for stormwater runoff.

"Our goal at StormwateRx has always been to help industrial customers reach and exceed even the strictest water quality standards and permit requirements for stormwater runoff by providing cost-effective solutions that can be retrofit to existing stormwater drainages and systems," said Cal Noling, president and CEO of StormwateRx, LLC. "The Industry Remedies are the result of 25 years of experience developing and consulting on water purification systems for industry, and they provide customers with a clear view of how to solve their environmental needs for stormwater treatment."

StormwateRx Industry Remedies include recommended stormwater treatment BMPs using industry-optimized configurations of the Clara® settling system to remove settleable oil and grit; the Aquip® passive, adsorptive stormwater filtration system for the reduction of pollutants such as oils, suspended solids, heavy metals (including dissolved metals), organics and nutrients and the Purus(TM) stormwater polishing system for enhanced pollutant removal of dissolved metals to the parts per billion range, toxic organics, water turbidity and elimination of pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli and fecal coliform.

The Industry Remedies from StormwateRx also provide a range of real customer examples, highlighting configurations and benchmark results that demonstrate the effectiveness of StormwateRx solutions in each industry sector. Among the most recently featured customers is Jubitz Truck Stop, a major travel center in Portland, OR that is known nationwide for its wide range of services to truckers and tourists and its commitment to environmental sustainability by offering ultra-low sulfur biodiesel, recycling facilities, no-idle truck parking and now a state-of-the-art stormwater filtration system that sets an example for truck stops and travel centers across the country.

With 15 acres of paved parking that produces large quantities of stormwater runoff, Jubitz identified the potential for that runoff to carry a variety of pollutants - road grit, metals, detergents and motor oils from vehicles as well as E. coli and fecal coliform from wildlife, livestock and domestic pets - that could wash into to the adjacent Columbia Slough Watershed. Jubitz retrofit their site with a stormwater treatment train from StormwateRx that included the Aquip and Purus systems for the highest level of pollutant removal.

"Managing stormwater runoff from our fully-paved truck stop facility presented unique issues, and we are very pleased that StormwateRx's system provided an adaptable and effective format for our industry's challenges," said Vic Stibolt, vice president administration of Jubitz Corporation. "Stormwater samples before and after the installation of the Aquip and Purus systems reflect a dramatic improvement in successfully preventing potential pollutants from entering our local waterways and in meeting benchmarks for water quality in stormwater runoff."
