Stinar Corporation Finds Patient Transport Solution in ARINC Aeromedical Pallet Components

Annapolis, Maryland, USA, April 30, 2007 - When Stinar Corporation needed a way to support and stabilize medical patient litters during transport aboard their new High Deck Patient Loading Platform Vehicles, they found the right solution in a specialized product from ARINC Engineering Services, LLC. ARINC will provide Stinar with 72 stanchion arms from its Aeromedical Pallet Systems for use in Stinar's High Deck Patient Loading Platform Vehicles.

Stinar currently has a contract to provide six High Deck Patient Loading Platform (HDPLP) Vehicles to the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command. The HDPLP is a ramp vehicle with an elevating cab and patient seating area that rise to the entrance level of a high-deck aircraf t, greatly improving safety and comfort for patients being transported. The concept is similar to that of food transport vehicles used in civilian aviation.

The Aeromedical Pallet stanchion arms will enable Stinar HDPLP vehicles to transport litter patients - from an airplane, across runways, and to waiting ambulance buses. The patient litters are hand-carried on board the HDPLP and locked into the horizontal stanchion arms, enabling patients to be transported safely while continuously receiving medical care.

"We are pleased ARINC's Aeromedical Pallet System components have been incorporated in another product that ensures the safety and comfort of litter patients on another form of transportation" stated Brett Fehrle, ARINC Business Development Manager.

Measuring 37 feet long, the Stinar DPT-724 HDPLP Vehicle will use 12 of the stanchion arms, making it capable of transporting up to six litter patients per trip. Transporting litter patients in an enclosed environment limits their exposure to adverse conditions they might experience if carried down a long ramp.

"The Aeromedical Pallet stanchion arms have made it possible for Stinar Corporation to successfully meet the requirements to provide the disabled passenger transport vehicles to the Air Force," stated Tom Carlson, Stinar Government Sales.

For more than 57 years, Stinar Corporation has been manufacturing products for the world-wide aviation industry used in loading, servicing, and maintaining various types of aircraft for both government and commercial applications.
