New Miniature PMC Series Stepping Motor & Driver with Harmonic Gearhead



Torrance, CA - Oriental Motor USA Corp. introduces the miniature PMC Series 5-phase hybrid stepping motor system, including printed circuit driver board and a miniature harmonic drive. This precision motion system provides enhanced torque performance and superior position accuracy in a miniature size. Basic step angle performance reaches 0.0072° (0.43 arc-minutes) for a high ratio (100:1).

The geared stepping motor packages feature zero backlash harmonic gearheads in 50:1 (PMC33A1-HG50) and 100:1 (PMC33A1-HG100) gear ratios. The PMC33A1- HG50 (1.1" sq. by 2.74" long) produces 160 oz-in at 25 rpm using the thin driver with a 24 vdc and 0.35 amps per phase electrical input. The PMC33A1-HG100 produces 284 oz-in at 30 rpm with the thin driver (2.2" long by 2.83" wide by 0.47" high) by applying an electrical input of 36 vdc and 0.35 amps per phase. The miniature thin driver uses a
small "on board" potentiometer to adjust the stepping motor's phase current to desired levels.
