Step-Up DC/DC Converter has Schottky diode and soft start.

Press Release Summary:

Housed in 6-lead ThinSOT(TM) package, LT3461/A combines 40 V, 300 mA (ISW), low VCESAT (260 mV) switch that delivers efficiencies to 84% with onboard Schottky diode and soft-start capability. Using constant frequency and current mode architecture, it operates from 2.5-16 V input voltage. Constant switching frequency of 1.3 or 3 MHz enables low noise operation and use of ceramic capacitors and inductors. It has 2.8 mA Quiescent Current (less than 1 µA in shutdown).

Original Press Release:

40V, 300mA (ISW), 3MHz Step-Up DC/DC Converter Has Integrated Schottky & Soft-Start

MILPITAS, CA - October 29, 2003 - Linear Technology announces the LT3461/A, a 1.3/3MHz, step-up DC/DC converter that combines an internal 40V, 300mA switch with an onboard Schottky diode and soft-start capability all packaged in a ThinSOT(TM). Using a constant frequency and current mode architecture, the LT3461/A operates from an input voltage range of 2.5V to 16V, making it ideal for single cell Li-Ion and 5V or 12V applications. Its internal 40V switch enables boost converters with outputs up to 38V as well as SEPIC and flyback designs. An on-chip Schottky diode saves both the size and cost of an external diode. The integrated soft-start eliminates high inrush current. Its constant switching frequency of 1.3 or 3MHz enables low noise operation and tiny, low cost ceramic capacitors and inductors.

The LT3461/A incorporates a low VCESAT (260mV) 300mA switch to deliver efficiencies as high as 84%. Quiescent current is only 2.8mA during operation and less than 1uA in shutdown. The LT3461/A is an ideal solution for applications such as TFT-LCD bias and xDSL, which require both low noise and a tiny solution footprint.

The LT3461/AES6 is available from stock in a 6-Lead ThinSOT package. Pricing starts at $1.65 each for 1,000-piece quantities.
