Stealth Communications Adds SMS, MMS, CNAM and Presence Capabilities to the VPF ENUM Registry

NEW YORK, June 13 /- Stealth Communications, Inc., today announced a series of new features to its Voice Peering Fabric (VPF) service for the routing of SMS, MMS, CNAM and Presence data via the VPF ENUM Registry with full IPv4 and IPv6 support.

The VPF ENUM Registry existed primarily to facilitate the exchange of VoIP traffic without having to transverse the public telephone network, allowing calls to remain completely within the IP domain. The registry is based on ENUM technology, a directory like technology that translates a telephone number and resolves it to a URL, like the way a traditional Domain Name Server (DNS) takes a URL (like www.google.com) and converts it into a numeric IP address.

SMS, MMS, CNAM and Presence at a glance:
o Short Message Service (SMS): Short text messaging, traditionally used
on mobile devices.
o Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS): Derived from SMS, it allows for the
exchange of rich text, images, sounds, video clips.
o Calling Name Delivery Information (CNAM): Caller-ID information.
o Presence: Presence technology reveals the status on one another's
availability and disposition. The status contains characteristics of
the user such as whether they are online, offline, busy or idle, away
from or nearby the device, and the like.

"We are proud to continue our focus on providing a simple and secure environment for the global voice community." said Shrihari Pandit, Founder & CEO of Stealth Communications, Inc. "By integrating new and traditional applications/services with ENUM, it enables our members to route calls based on presence information, to store and retrieve CNAM data, and to exchange text/multimedia messaging directly."

There are no transactional costs associated with the registration of data, querying the registry and completing of a call or message. VPF Members may immediately take advantage of these new capabilities by inserting or updating existing ENUM records.

Carrying more than one-half of a billion minutes daily, the Voice Peering Fabric is the preferred platform and marketplace for Service Providers, Enterprises, and Government Agencies to exchange VoIP traffic and telephony related services. It is a private distributed Layer-2 Ethernet network and functions as a meet-point allowing members to establish peer-to-peer connections in a secure, quality-of-service environment.
