Stainless Steel Static Grounding Reels For Demanding Hazardous Location Applications

A new line of FM and ATEX approved rugged closed housing spring rewind stainless steel grounding reels from Newson Gale responds to the need for a convenient means of assuring necessary grounding in processing applications and environments at risk from uncontrolled static discharge.

The reels are designed for use in processes that involve not only dangerous explosive, flammable or combustible atmospheres but also require exceptional corrosion resistance or the need to avoid contamination of the process environment. These rugged stainless steel reels join the wide range of Newson Gale’s Cen-Stat® grounding reels and assemblies, all designed to provide a convenient means of stowing grounding cables and clamps when not in use.

For flexibility and durability, the reels’ cables are composed of 3/32” (2.3 mm) multi-strand stainless steel with Cab-Lite “Hi-Viz” coating. Additional features include a bracket for stowing static grounding clamps when not in use and an optional stainless steel swivel base enabling the reel to swing to the left or right to deliver the cable exactly where it is needed.

Standard cable lengths are 20, 30 or 50 feet (6.1, 9.1 or 15.2 meters). Reels can also be ordered as complete tested assemblies including stainless steel & ATEX/FM approved X45 and X90 static grounding clamps to enable compliance with international static control guidelines and standards including NFPA 77 and IEC 60079-32.
