Start of the Construction of the Lotnisko Wind Farm, One of the Largest Renewable Energy Projects in Poland


A ceremony took place on 10th of September, 2014 in Wicko (Poland) for the start of the construction of the 90 MW Lotnisko wind farm, which will be based in Kopaniewo, and which is one of the largest project in the Polish wind power industry. The ceremony was attended by representatives of PGE Odnawialna S.A1.



- Marek Woszczyk, President of the Board; PGE Energia Odnawialna S.A. - Maciej Górski, President of the Board, and representatives of Alstom in Poland – Les³aw Kuzaj, President of the Board, Miros³aw Kowalik, Thermal Power and Renewable Sales and Marketing Director, representative of Alstom Renewable Spain – Alexis de Beaumont, Regional Vice President, as well as local officials. The construction of the Lotnisko wind farm will be conducted by Alstom, which was awarded the contract in June 2014. This is the first wind power project implemented by Alstom Poland. The project includes supply, installation and commissioning of 30 Alstom ECO 110 3MW wind turbines, equipped with a 110m diameter rotor, 90m high steel tower and a SCADA2 remote control system. Completion of the wind farm is scheduled for Q 4 of 2015.

The Lotnisko Wind Farm is the largest investment made by PGE Capital Group in the renewable energies field, aiming at achieving at least 234 MW of new power wind farms within 2014-2016. Today, PGE Capital Group is one of the leaders with over 300 MW power installed in wind energy.
