Star Headlight and Lantern Co. Purchases IINEO from Europlacer

Tampa, FL – Europlacer, a manufacturer of market-leading flexible SMT placement machines, announces that Avon, N.Y.-based Start Headlight and Lantern Co., Inc. recently purchased an IINEO II pick-and-place system.

Since 1889 Star Headlight and Lantern Co., Inc. has been the leader in emergency vehicle safety lighting products, railroad lanterns and personal safety strobes. Because the company features a diverse line of new and legacy products on its production floor, it must have equipment capable of daily multiple, full changeovers. After evaluating close to 10 SMT platforms and companies, Star Headlight and Lantern chose Europlacer’s IINEO II.

Mike Mastin, VP of Production at Star Headlight and Lantern Co., Inc., said, “We are two months into our relationship, and, we sure are happy that we did!” He added that the IINEO already has tripled the production/productivity and output efficiency on the company’s SMT production line.

The IINEO machine is the flagship of Europlacer’s product range and has won several awards as one of the most flexible pick-and-place machines on the market. With a feeder capacity of 264 x 8 mm feeders, placement speeds to approximately 17,000-21,000 actual cph, capability from 01005 through to 50 x 50 mm and for devices as high as 35 mm tall, the Europlacer IINEO has been accepted widely within the global market for both CEM and OEM manufacturers to enable hyper-productivity.

Mastin is pleased with Europlacer’s knowledge about its equipment and its ability to propose the best machine to meet Star Headlight Lantern’s growing needs. He also feels that Europlacer’s support and service outranks its competition, and is pleased that every item was delivered on time and thoroughly explained. He added that the personal follow up after the machine was delivered and installed was an appreciated touch.

“Our experience was great and the next machine I need, Europlacer will be the first call I make. I welcome any prospective customer looking for SMT equipment to call me personally and I gladly will expound upon my experience,” concluded Mastin.

About Europlacer

Europlacer became a division of Parable Trust Ltd. in 2013. Europlacer has been developing machines for SMT electronics assembly since the 1970s and invented the intelligent feeder concept in the 1980s. After acquisition by Blakell Europlacer in 1991, the company moved away from split-axis to the inherently more capable X-Y architecture that underpins the company’s pick-and-place machines today. Europlacer’s policy has been to ensure wherever possible that technology purchased many years ago, especially feeders, remain compatible with the latest pick-and-place equipment. Europlacer designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of highly flexible SMT pick-and-place systems for the global electronics industry.
