Stamina® F3 HL Fungicide Seed Treatment from BASF Receives EPA Registration Three Active Ingredients Protect Wheat and Barley from Disease

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - Stamina® F3 HL fungicide seed treatment has received EPA registration for commercial seed treatment use on wheat and barley. Stamina F3 HL is applied at the rate of 1 oz. per 100 lbs. of seed and contains no color, allowing seed-treating companies the ability to add their own color.

"Stamina F3 HL provides growers an excellent seed treatment to help get their wheat and barley seedlings off to the right start by protecting them from key diseases," said Chris Exton, Marketing Manager, Seed Treatments for BASF's Crop Protection division. "Stamina F3 HL provides peace of mind and operational convenience for growers because it provides increased disease control in one seed treatment."

Stamina F3 HL is designed to provide the benefits of several proven active ingredients found in BASF's current SeedSolutions offerings, including:

Increased disease protection with triticonazole, the active ingredient in Charter® fungicide seed treatment

Broad protection against Pythium species with metalaxyl, the active ingredient in Acquire® fungicide seed treatment

Excellent disease control with F500®, the active ingredient in Stamina® fungicide seed treatment and Headline® fungicide

The three active ingredients in Stamina F3 HL work together to provide broad-spectrum seed and seedling disease control in wheat and barley.

"Controlling disease from the seed up helps plants grow healthier and stronger right out of the ground," Exton said. "Stamina F3 HL provides control of a broad spectrum of wheat and barley disease threats, including Fusarium seed rot and seedling blight, damping-off, common root rot, Rhizoctonia root rot, dry seed decay, wheat common blunt, wheat loose smut and flag smut, barley covered smut , true loose smut and false loose smut.

It also provides suppression of Fusarium crown root rot and Fusarium common root rot."

Available for sale this fall on winter wheat, Stamina F3 HL can be mixed with Axcess® insecticide seed treatment for protection against wire worms, aphids, Hessian flies, grasshoppers and other insects.

Stamina F3 HL fungicide seed treatment is part of BASF's growing Seed Solutions portfolio that offers outstanding protection with the best seed vitality and innovative technology, thus fulfilling the needs of both farmers and seed industry partners. In addition to Stamina F3 HL, BASF's seed treatment portfolio includes: Charter® and Charter® F² fungicide seed treatment formulations for wheat and barley; Acquire fungicide seed treatment for many crops; Coronet® fungicide seed treatment for certain vegetable crops; Axcess® seed treatment insecticide for many crops; and Stamina fungicide seed treatment for corn, wheat, barley, peas, beans, cotton, sunflowers, lentils, alfalfa and other crops.
