Parker Introduces Quality-Assured Domestic and Non-Domestic Stainless Steel Tubing as Part of Complete Offering for Leak-Free Instrumentation Systems

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., - Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, introduces a line of quality-assured domestic and non-domestic 316/316L stainless steel seamless tubing for hydraulic and instrumentation applications. The line was designed for systems processing harsh media or in corrosive environments where the safety, integrity, and reliability of the tubing are critical and leak prevention is paramount.

The instrument tubing line is made up of Parker Plus Tubing (P2) (domestic) and Parker Tubing (P1) (non-domestic). The tubing is available in sizes from 1/8 inch to 1 inch outside diameter and is marked to indicate the size, material, specifications, and heat number. The line was developed primarily for the chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, and power generation industries.

Parker's Instrumentation Products Division (IPD) developed the line in partnership with tubing suppliers to provide domestic and non-domestic 316/316L stainless steel tubing manufactured to the Parker performance standards for quality, among the highest in the industry. The line meets ASME, ISO 9001, QS-9000, PED 97/23/EC, JIS, TUV, and LRQA requirements for tubing.

Correct tube selection and installation are key ingredients to building leak-free, reliable systems. Along with its instrument tubing line, Parker offers four complementary flareless fittings, including A-LOK®, CPI(TM), MPI(TM), and Phastite®. A tube fabrication equipment package provides all the equipment necessary to successfully install tube fittings in various system applications. Parker IPD also offers a "Tube Fabrication Training Seminar" and a free training guide - "Instrument Tube Fitting Installation Manual."

"The addition of the stainless steel instrument tubing to the Parker IPD line further establishes us as the 'one-stop-shop' for quality-assured products and services," explained Kevin Burke, Parker IPD Marketing Manager. "Parker IPD now offers the full complement of tubing, fittings, tubing tools, and training required to meet the rigorous performance standards required to help reduce the risk of system leaks and other problems in hydraulic and instrumentation applications."

For Parker seamless, straight length tubing, every step of the tube production process is controlled to ensure consistent quality. Quality control includes an audit trail for the raw materials and continues from the point of steel smelting through to the finished product.

The Parker instrument tubing products are characterized by the ovality, concentricity, and hardness limits required for excellent performance in a wide variety of hydraulic and instrumentation system applications, temperatures, and pressures. The tubing offers the high surface smoothness and close dimensional tolerances needed to ensure no leakages when connected with couplings or to Parker fittings. The line is Parker "branded" for quality assurance on P1 non-domestic and P2 domestic tubing, assuring installers that the tubing - as well as the Parker tube fittings and valves - have been qualified by Parker Hannifin.
