Stainless Steel Electrode resists creep and corrosion.

Press Release Summary:

SelectAlloy 316LT0-3 has nominal weld metal composition of 19% chromium, 12.5% nickel, 2.5% molybdenum, and max carbon content of 0.03%. Molybdenum imparts resistance to pitting and creep, while carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation and promotes resistance to intergranular corrosion. Self-shielded, flux cored electrode produces flat, well washed bead and provides globular arc transfer with minimal spatter. Available diameters include .045, 1/16, and 3/32 in.

New Stainless Steel Electrode Resists Creep and Corrosion

Fort Loramie, OH - Select-Arc, Inc. has introduced a self-shielded, flux cored stainless steel electrode that is designed to resist creep and intergranular corrosion.

SelectAlloy 316LT0-3 is composed of a nominal weld metal composition of 19% chromium, 12.5% nickel, 2.5% molybdenum and a maximum carbon content of 0.03%. The presence of molybdenum improves resistance to pitting and delivers increased creep resistance. In addition, the low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation and makes it more resistant to intergranular corrosion.

SelectAlloy 316LT0-3 produces a flat, well washed bead and provides a globular arc transfer with low spatter. Superb for surfacing or welding over gaps, this austenitic electrode is utilized to weld Type 316 stainless steel as well as for the cladding of carbon steels.

SelectAlloy 316LT0-3 is available in .045", 1/16" and 3/32" diameters.
