New LLC/LLD Stackable Process Oven designed for non-HEPA applications

MINNEAPOLIS - January 24, 2003 - The new LLC/LLD Stackable Process Oven offers semiconductor and electronics manufacturers the quality and efficiency of a Despatch stackable process oven in a non-HEPA configuration for semiconductor packaging applications such as die-bond curing.

Development of the LLC/LLD oven was based directly on input from end users in the semiconductor- and electronics industries. "Clean room space is at a premium, so our customers were thrilled when we introduced a stackable process oven in 2001. Users liked it so much that they asked if we could provide the same features in a non-HEPA version," said Hans Melgaard, Vice President, Despatch. "This new oven gives them a high-quality, thermal processing alternative for applications that don't require HEPA filtration - and further demonstrates Despatch's continuing commitment to semiconductor and electronics manufacturers."

Ergonomic design and small footprint
The recirculation motor is mounted on the back of the LLC/LLD oven. and all of the serviceable components are easily accessible for maximum efficiency. This unique design allows users to stack up to three ovens on top of one another, saving on valuable floor space while keeping loading heights ergonomically acceptable.

Two chamber sizes
The LLC/LLD oven is available with chamber volumes of 1.6 or 5.1 cubic feet (45 or 144 liters) to accommodate a wide variety of product and process sizes. The chamber also features a non-corrosive stainless steel interior. Continuously welded seams on the insulation side protect the work chamber from contamination and permit washing of the chamber without damaging the insulation.

SEMI S2 and CE compliance
The oven is SEMI S2 and CE compliant for universal acceptance and is configured for multiple voltages and 50/60 hz. The oven also has a UL and C-UL listed open control panel with a lock-able disconnect switch for easy servicing.

Additionally, the LLC/LLD oven features Despatch's programmable, microprocessor-based protocol Plus(TM) controller, designed to make oven operation simple and flexible. Using Despatch's Protocol Manager(TM) software, controllers can be networked and connected to a host computer, allowing for centralized operation, monitoring, and data logging of an oven network.

Other standard features
The LLC/LLD oven is available in either air or nitrogen atmosphere configurations. Forced exhaust is standard on the air atmosphere units for rapid cool down, and water cooling is standard on the nitrogen atmosphere units. Also standard are an electric door release and a programmable door lock, which prevent operators from opening the oven door when a cycle is in process.

Despatch Industries, which is closely held, was founded in 1902.
