New Larger, Multifunctional Spring Plungers for Machines and Fixtures

Milwaukee, WI - September 27, 2002 - DBM Innovation Inc.

DBM Innovation Inc. expands the DBM Universal Spring Cylinder line-a newly patented spring plunger style. Because of its ability to handle numerous industrial applications that existing spring stops and larger plungers can't, these multifunctional devices reduce or eliminate custom design and build costs.

The spring cylinder's plunger has a tapped hole and pilot bore on the compression end and a threaded extension on the tension end. One can easily add standard or custom attachments and create a device that fills a variety of needs-in compression or tension. The hardened steel plunger (45-50 Rc) can also be used directly without attachments (such as indexing applications).

The DBM Universal Spring Cylinder is now available in a threaded body style in addition to the popular non-threaded body style. The threaded style can be used with numerous types of mounting hardware. The non-threaded style is ideal for indexing and other applications where thread runout could cause alignment problems.

An optional removable retract lock can be used on the threaded or non-threaded styles. Completely retracting the plunger and rotating it 90 degrees locks the plunger in the retracted position. The retract lock aids in preventing rotation of the plunger by keying to the flats of the cylinder body.

Each of the four sizes is available in two spring forces. Additional sizes, materials and attachments are currently being developed. Special designs and spring forces can be supplied as well.

DBM Innovation Inc. is a privately owned corporation established in Wisconsin in 1996.
